Launch of NEK TS 606 2025

The Norwegian Electrotechnical Committee (NEK) presents the seventh edition of NEK TS 606:2025 «Cables for offshore installations – Halogen-free low smoke and flame-retardant / fire-resistant (HFFR-LS)».

NEK TS 606:2025 covers basic requirements for halogen-free and drilling fluid-resistant cables, specially developed for maritime environments in the petroleum industry.

The specification covers:
– Low and high voltage power cables
– Control and lighting cables
– Instrumentation and telecommunication cables
– Fiber optic cables
– Hydrocarbon fire-resistant (HCF) cables
– Jet fire-resistant (JF) cables
